Marilyn Perry's Discovery Of Andrew Imbrie's Musical Work Dandelion Wine

My First Encounter

I first heard Andrew Imbrie’s music, Andrew Imbrie’s Dandelion Wine in particular, during a period of time when I was studying music composition with one of his students, David Del Tredici, who is a master composer in his own right. Early one Sunday morning, after staying up all night studying and composing at my desk, I took a break to soothe my senses. At the time, my musical explorations had evolved beyond music such as the Second Viennese School: Arnold Schoenberg, Anton Webern, and Alban Berg; toward George Rochberg, Charles Wourinen, and the other abstract expressionist serial technique composers who were composing during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Web Site Development Overview

This web site is developed with the Drupal content management system (CMS). The name Drupal probably sounds somewhat unusual to English speaking ears, but it is simply an anglicized version of the Dutch word for drop, as in a drop of water. Drupal is an open source software tool that is developed by a community of people who are interested in state of the art web site development and management. The Drupal community is a global network of people who are interested in web site development software. Unlike some projects that claim "open source" status, Drupal truly is a community project.

And so it begins ...

Marilyn Perry - And So It Begins

Pundits claim that generalized, multi-topic, online diaries, or so called blogs, don't work very well. Such notions are probably dependent upon the purpose, nature, and intended audience, of the information published.

In any event, the term blog, even the term "web log" just never seemed at all appealing. Consequently this collection of brief written missives are hereby dubbed Cursory Cogitations.
